ABOUT RACHEL CASSIDY

Hi!  I'm Rachel.  I'm originally from Sullivan County in upstate New York.  My heart belongs to the woods and to New York City.  I grew up playing flute, participating in musical theatre, singing, playing golf, and running.  I love travel and good food.  I'm still a theatre nerd, putting a golf club in my hand brings me joy and peace, and I currently play flute in an adult community orchestra.  I'm the wife of a newly retired Naval Flight Officer and a mom. I encourage stories to be told and lived.  I have learned the art of holding space for people.  I enjoy building community.  I provide services from a mindset of overall wellness.  I believe that the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual (energetic) all work together.

I feel very strongly about stories.  Everyone has one.  It is totally unique to them, and it is important for it to be enjoyed and shared.  Wellness looks different for each person.  Everyone's bodies have different needs and each person has gone through unique personal experiences.  Many people express experiencing stress, pain, and exhaustion.  This is a signal to slow down, find stillness, and investigate inward.  We will work together to release, heal, and set intentions for living well on your own journey.

Performing arts and the theatre are my home.  The performing arts teach, they inform, they provide us access to experiences we otherwise might never encounter.  They are inclusive, they are accepting, they are collaborative.  They provide insight and glimpses into the way people exist.  They provide escape, allow for the expression of emotions, and cause us to emote.  They are also hard work.  If you are a performing artist, I don't need to tell you that theatre actors essentially run a marathon multiple times per week while also giving an emotional experience.  Instrumental musicians position and move their bodies to play in ways that are tiring and can sometimes lead to pain.  Performing artists are creative athletes, who often do work that leaves them open to injury.  The process of auditioning, personal practice, rehearsing, and performing is demanding.  I help you create an overall lifestyle of wellness that supports you physically, mentally, emotionally, and energetically.  We work together to develop ways to balance work, art, your dreams, and your personal life.
